What is a Comprehensive School Counseling Curriculum?

A Comprehensive School Counseling Curriculum serves students from Kindergarten to 12th grade and beyond.  I will be providing comprehensive guidance counseling for the grades K-8 at Sacred Heart and St. Pat's, K-2 at St. Joe's, and 3-8 at Immaculate Conception.
A Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Curriculum Addresses:
* Academic Development
* Career Development
* Personal/Social Development
A Counselor addresses these components through the use of classroom guidance, small groups, and individual counseling.

Areas Addressed:

Academic Development
    * We work to ensure that all students are developing into lifelong learners.  This includes assisting them with learning strategies that can be beneficial both in and out of the school setting.

Career Development
    * We work to assist students of all levels in exploring their interests and gifts to help them in their search for their chosen career.  This includes helping younger students explore career opportunities as well as having older students complete interest inventories.

Personal/Social
    * We work to help all students become well-rounded individuals.  We do this by teaching them skills that help them grow in the mind and spirit.
